Disposition of Planets

To start out, for those who don't know what a depositor is, it is a planet that through sign or house position gives its disposition (energy) to another planet in the chart. An example is Mars giving its disposition to any planet in Aries. this can be done directly or indirectly and can get a little confusing. If Mercury is in Aries and Jupiter is in Virgo, then Mars gives it's disposition to Mercury in a direct way and to Jupiter indirectly, since Mercury deposits Jupiter (Jupiter in Virgo).

The final depositor is a planet which is found in it's own sign. Some charts have none, some charts have more than one. The final depositor shows how a person makes their decisions and takes action. If the final depositor is by mutual reception (each planet deposits the other equally) like the Mars, Mercury example, there are two approaches to problem solving that can be used and the person take turns with each method testing each one. If there is indirect disposition, like the Mars, Mercury, Jupiter example then there are three or more possibilities for that person to take action.

The disposition of the planet makes it stronger when dealing with the other planet or house. In Horary Astrology, having two planets in mutual reception, allows the planets to exchange places in the reading. I would think that a transit of it's own sign would enhance or blend the energy of the planet in question.
